Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the government and the opposition have to work together to fulfil the dream of a strong, safe, developed and inclusive nation.
Replying to the debate on ‘Motion Of Thanks on the President’s Address’ in the Lok Sabha, the Prime Minister said, after many years, the people of the country gave a strong mandate and re-elected the NDA government.
He said the Lok Sabha elections have shown that the people are thinking about the betterment of the country over themselves and the spirit is commendable.
Prime Minister Modi said, in 2014, people gave a chance to the government as an experiment.
The 2019 mandate was given after fully analyzing the government’s performance. Mr Modi said, he never thinks about polls in terms of victory and defeat but as an opportunity to serve 130 crore Indians.
The Prime Minister said, it takes time to change things existing for the last 70 years but the government did not divert or dilute from its main goal.
It moved forward, be it infrastructure or in space. Hitting out at the Congress, the Prime Minister said, the government does not want to disconnect with masses but wants to remain connected to the roots.
