The four-day Chhath Puja celebrations began across the country today, October 28. It is a festival connected with purity. Devotees pay special prayer to the Sun God, who is considered the source of life on this earth and is regarded as the deity who fulfills all our wishes. devotees are observing Nahaye Khaye today and the atmosphere in the entire Bihar is reverberating with devotional songs.

People started their day early in the morning with holy baths in the river Ganga and bring some water to their homes to prepare offerings. Devotees take only one meal a day, known as Kaddu bhat, cooked only in bronze or soil utensils and mango wood over the soil stove.

Kharna is tomorrow. Devotees will observe fast for the whole day and break their fast in the evening after sunset and worshiping the Sun. After taking Prasad in the evening, they go on a fast without water for the next 36 hours. Standing in knee-deep water devotees will pay oblation to the setting Sun on the third day. Chhath puja will conclude on Monday morning after paying oblation to the rising Sun.
