Foreign investors pumped in around Rs 14,500 crore into Indian capital markets in August

Foreign investors have pumped in around 14,500 crore rupees into the Indian capital markets in August.

According to the depositories data, foreign portfolio investors or FPIs, bought equities worth 986 crore rupees and invested 13,494 crore rupees in the debt markets between the August 2 and August 27 period. This translated into a total net investment of 14,480 crore rupees into the Indian capital markets in August.

According to the National Securities Depository Limited, FPIs have been net sellers in all the months of this fiscal barring June when they had invested 12,974 crore rupees into the Indian markets. FPIs withdrew 8,836 crore rupees in April, 1,958 crore rupees in May and 7,410 crore rupees in July.
