Pope Francie held a mass in the Lutheran Charles Church in Tallinn, Estonia, on Tuesday, during which he admitted that scandals surrounding the church had driven young people away.
“Some of you, young people, have even ask to be left in peace because you feel the church’s presence is a bother or even irritating – and it’s true. You are outraged by sexual and economic and financial scandals that do not meet with clear condemnation,” he said.
“We want to address them. As you yourself spotted we want to be a transparent, welcoming, honest, accessible, joyful, and interactive community,” he added.
Pope Francisco arrived in Estonia in the final leg of his tour across Baltic countries.
