The Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has extended the deadline till the 11th of next month for employees to apply for a pension on higher wages.
The Union Labour Ministry said the last opportunity of 15 days is being given to remove any difficulty faced by eligible pensioners and members. Earlier, the deadline was the 26th of this month and over 16 lakh applications for validation of options have been received till that period.
The EPFO has also given three months’ time to employers to submit wages details online. It came in the wake of representations given by Employers and Employers’ Associations requesting to extend the time period for uploading wage details of applicant pensioners and members.
