The eastern districts of Rajasthan have been receiving unseasonal rains for the last three days. It rained intermittently throughout the day in the capital Jaipur yesterday.
Light to heavy rainfall was recorded in 22 districts of the state including Kota, Udaipur, Bharatpur, and Ajmer divisions. According to MET office rainfall in east Rajasthan is likely to continue for the next two days.
Due to unseasonal rain there is a possibility of damage to Kharif crop. BJP MP from Bhilwara Subhash Bahedia has written a letter to Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot regarding the damage to crops and requested for timely disbursement of compensation to the farmers.
Agriculture Minister Lalchand Kataria said that due to untimely rain at some places in the state there is a possibility of huge damage to the Kharif crops. He advised the farmers to inform the insurance company working in the district about the loss of their insured crop within 72 hours so that action can be taken to give insurance claim under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana.
