India’s 20-year-old star Farrata Dhavika Hima Das on Friday joined the police department as Deputy Superintendent (DSP) in the Assam Police. In a ceremony held on Friday, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal handed Hima the appointment letter for the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police.
On this occasion, the top police officers including Assam Director General of Police and officers of the state government were present. Hima was given an appointment letter to him at the Sarusjai Sports Complex. Hima described this occasion as being a dream come true for her childhood.
Famous by the name of ‘Dhing Express’, 20-year-old Hima is from Assam. Hima is the only woman runner in India to win a gold medal at the IAAF World Under-20 Championship. He finished the race in 51.46 seconds.

Speaking to the media, Hima said that she had been dreaming of becoming a police officer since childhood. I wanted to become a police officer since school days and it was my mother’s dream too. My mother used to give me a toy gun during Durga Puja. Hima said, ‘Everything I have got, everything has been got due to sports.
I will continue the game with my job
Hima, the Asian Games silver medalist and junior world champion, said she will continue the game and her career with a job. He said, “I will do more for the betterment of sports in the state and will try my best to make Assam the best performing state like Haryana.”
