In the National Capital Delhi, Delhi Police has imposed a month-long ban on public meetings and tractors and trolleys entering the city, in response to the proposed agitation by the farmer organisations tomorrow.
In an order issued by Delhi Police, Commissioner Sanjay Arora said that the decision has been taken based on well-founded apprehension that those participating in the march may try to enter the city to hold demonstrations to assert their demand.
The order further stated that blocking of roads, passages, rallies, public meeting and gathering of five or more persons are prohibited in the entire jurisdiction of Delhi. Carrying Corrosive Substances or Explosives has also been banned in the city. Delhi Police said that all vehicles entering from neighbouring states Haryana and Uttar Pradesh are subjected to rigorous and thorough inspection by law enforcement authorities. However, this order does not apply on any procession or meeting organized by the Government and any public servant acting in the discharge of his/her duty. People are allowed to attend weddings, funerals or other purely religious functions organised after due permission from concerned authority.
Delhi Police has urged all residents, community leaders and stakeholders for their cooperation and support to the law enforcement agencies to maintain the law and order in the city.
