Residents of Delhi and NCR today got a much-needed respite from the hot and humid weather as the various parts of city received light to moderate rainfall this morning. The city and adjoining areas also witnessed thunderstorms and gusty winds. It led to massive traffic jams and affected flight operations at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. Trees got uprooted in some parts of the national capital and traffic jams were reported in various stretches, including ITO, Delhi-Noida Direct Flyway, and AIIMS.
IMD has predicted generally cloudy sky with rain or thundershowers accompanied by squalls for today in Delhi and its adjoining areas. The maximum and minimum temperature is likely to hover around 37 and 27 degrees Celsius.
