The Delhi government will bring a white paper on the tenure of the previous Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) regime in the national capital. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced this during a discussion on the Comptroller and Auditor General’s (CAG) report on the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) in the Assembly today.
Earlier in the day, Mrs Gupta tabled the CAG report, which is the third CAG report on DTC. The report is expected to shed light on the financial and operational aspects of the DTC. She also said the economic survey will be tabled soon, as audits in different departments are still ongoing.
Ahead of the commencement of the five-day budget session, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta with ministers Parvesh Verma, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Kapil Mishra and others participated in the Kheer ceremony. During question hour, MLAs of the ruling party and opposition discussed important issues related to the city’s development. Opposition MLAs also questioned the Mahila Samridhi Yojana and demanded clarification about the registration process of the scheme. They also demanded to discuss this issue, but the State Assembly speaker, Vijender Gupta, did not allow them.
Following this, all opposition leaders walked out of the house. Leader of the opposition in the house and Aam Aadmi Party MLA, Atishi alleged that the ruling party does not want to discuss the scheme which the BJP promised in its manifesto for the Delhi Assembly election this year. The first budget session of the eighth Delhi Assembly will continue on the 28th of this month.
