Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday celebrated holi with the Armed Forces personnel at Leh Military Station.
The Defence Minister was seen applying ‘tika’ on the foreheads of Armed Forces personnel.
During his address to the personnel, the defence minister said, “All of you, being soldiers, are members of every family in India. I have come among you carrying the love of all the families of India. You may be seeing me here as a Defense Minister, but I have come not as a Defense Minister, but as your relative, to meet my family on the day of Holi.”
Along with the wishes of the countrymen for Holi, I have brought for you their blessings, he added.
Earlier in the day, Defence Minister Singh also laid a wreath at the ‘Hall of Fame’ in Leh.
Singh was earlier scheduled to celebrate with Armed Forces personnel deployed in Siachen. However, due to the inclement weather conditions there, he celebrated holi in Leh instead.
