In the Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket, Delhi Capitals defeated Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by one wicket in a last-over thriller at the Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam last night. Chasing a target of 210 set by LSG, Delhi Capitals successfully reached 211 for 9 in 19.3 overs. At one stage, Delhi was struggling at 65 for 5, but impact player Ashutosh Sharma, along with debutant Vipraj Nigam, turned the game in Delhi’s favour. Ashutosh played a blistering unbeaten knock of 66 runs off 31 balls, while Vipraj Nigam provided a quickfire cameo, scoring 39 runs from just 15 balls. Ashutosh further sealed the victory with a six and was named Player of the Match.
Earlier, Delhi Capitals won the toss and chose to field. LSG, put into bat, posted a total of 209 for 8 in their 20 overs. For LSG, Mitchell Marsh scored 72 runs, and Nicholas Pooran contributed with 75 runs. For Delhi, Mitchell Starc was the standout bowler, taking 3 wickets.
