Chemicals and Fertilisers minister D V Sadananda Gowda has assured vaccine for all by December. Speaking to media persons in Bengaluru, the Union minister informed that the Central Government is purchasing 75 percent of vaccine produced in the country and supplying it free across the country. AIR Correspondent reports that the minister Mr.Sadananda Gowda has said that Covaxin production will increase from the present 1.7 crore doses per month to 7.5 crore doses per month in July.
Serum Institute of India will increase production of Covishield to 11 crore doses per month by September. Russian Sputnik 5 vaccine import has started. Five Indian labs will start producing Russian vaccine in India under agreement. Hyderabad based Biological E company has agreed to supply 30 crore vaccine doses by December.
Hence there will be no dearth of vaccine and everyone above the age of 18 will get vaccine by December. The minister informed that trials on the use of vaccine for children are on its final stage and once approved the children who are said to prone to Covid during the third wave will be vaccinated.
