Gulf Air and Etihad Airways have extended their existing codeshare agreement to four more
airports in the US. These include Washington, JFK in New York, Los Angeles and O’Hare in
Chicago. The initial codeshare agreement was signed between the two carriers in November
2018 at the Bahrain International Airshow.
Gulf Air will place it’s GF code on Etihad flights to and from these four airports and will be
entitled to use the preclearance facility offered at Abu Dhabi international Airport exclusively for
Etihad flights. This facility will allow US bound passengers to process all immigration and
customs related inspections before they depart, so that they arrive in the US as domestic
passengers t make the whole experience seamless. In addition to the points in the US, Gulf Air
will place its ‘GF’ code on Etihad flights from Abu Dhabi to and from Bahrain, Brisbane,
Jakarta, Lagos, Melbourne and Sydney for a total of nine cities under this codeshare agreement.
The agreement will see Etihad place its ‘EY’ code on Gulf Air flights from Bahrain to and from
Abu Dhabi, Baghdad, Casablanca, Dhaka, Faisalabad, Larnaca, Multan, Najaf, Peshawar, Sialkot
and Tbilisi.
