In Jammu & Kashmir, the annual examinations of Class 12th will begin today in Kashmir Valley and Winter zone of Jammu region. All arrangements have been put in place made for the smooth conduct of annual board examinations.
The class 10th exam began yesterday. According to a statement issued by Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE), around 65,000 students of Kashmir Division and 24,000 students of Winter Zone of Jammu Division appeared for 10th class examination. Over 900 exam centers were centres were set up. A special centre for differently-abled students was also set up in Srinagar. Officials said, 99 per cent students appeared in the examination which remained incident-free.
Joint Secretary, Examination of Board of School Education Syed Rouf told AIR News that no untoward incident at any examination centre was reported.
Besides deployment of checking squads for surprise checks at exam centres, all arrangements have been put in place related to heating, drinking water, electricity, transportation and other basic amenities to the candidates at every examination centre. With adequate deployment of police personnel, Section 144 shall remain imposed around all examination centres.
The government had impressed upon the JK State Board of School education, College and University authorities to ensure the conduct of all ensuing examinations before the onset of winters in Kashmir region and also in winter Zone of Jammu region.
