CISF personnel rescued fourteen (14) people from the drowning boat in the sea near Mormugao Port Trust (MPT), Goa
On 10.02.2022 at about 2000 hrs, while conducting patrolling in port area of CISF Unit Mormugao Port Trust (MPT), Goa, CISF Quick Reaction Team (QRT) personnel noticed that a boat carrying some persons has become out of control due to sudden non-functioning of engine and was about to capsize in the sea outside the light house area where the water was very deep. Immediately, the CISF QRT team reached at the location and found that fourteen (14) persons were there in the boat (Shiv Sagar Reg. No.GA01MM2566).
Immediately, CISF QRT team informed the matter to the shift in-charge and the Coast Guard Officials. Subsequently, officers and other personnel of CISF immediately reached the site of the incident and started rescue operation. The boat was stabilized through ropes and the petrol was made available with the help of life-buoy, after which the engine of the boat started and the lives of all the fourteen (14) persons were saved.
The rescued persons thanked the CISF personnel for saving their lives and they proceeded to the safe private fishing jetty. After getting information about the said incident, Deputy Conservator MPT and DIG, Coast Guard (Sangram Ship) reached at the spot along with their team and appreciated the efforts made by CISF personnel for rescue and saving the fourteen (14) precious lives.
