Railway Minister Piyush Goyal today said that Central Railway will be adding eight more trains to its Suburban daily local services in Mumbai from 1st of October.
The Minister said, in a tweet, out of eight locals, two will be ladies special.
Mr Goyal said, the move will help maintain social distance and enhance passenger convenience.
The Central Railway is currently operating 423 trains and with the eight new additions the total number of daily services would go to 431.
Among the eight new services, four are on main line including two specials and the rest four are on trans-harbor line.
The Railways have advised all the commuters to adhere to COVID-19 guidelines issued by the government while boarding, alighting and travelling in the train.
