New Delhi [India], : The director of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Alok Kumar Verma on Thursday felicitated Harshita Tomar, who won a Bronze Medal in 4.7 Laser event of Sailing competition at the 18th Asian Games, 2018 at Palembang, Jakarta (Indonesia).
Harshita Tomar is the daughter of Rani Tomar, woman constable posted at Anti Corruption Branch, CBI, Bhopal and Devendra Singh Tomar.
Congratulating Harshita, Alok Kumar said that she competed against men and women of all age groups in the Asian Games and this makes her victory all the more unique.
He also congratulated Rani Tomar for her wonderful parenting and assured all possible assistance to Harshita from CBI in her future endeavours.
Harshita is a student of Class- 10th from Madhya Pradesh’s Kotra Sultanabad. She started training in sailing in 2012. She has won 19 Gold medals, 3 Silver medals and 5 Bronze medals at National Level Competitions. She was given Eklavya Award in the year 2017 by the State Government.
Speaking about her achievement, Harshita said, “Since last four years, I had dreamt of winning medal. Usually in our game, girls and boys play separately but in Asian Gamesboys and girls competed together which was a greater challenge. There was a lot of hard work.”
