The volume of water from the Karnataka dams to the river Cauvery has been increased to 55 thousand cubic feet per second.

Following this, the water level in the Oakenakkal Cauvery has increased from 14,000 cubic feet per second to 29,000 cubic feet per second.

Due to the high water level, the district administration has banned bathing at the waterfall in Oakenakkal.

The water level of Mettur Dam was 15 thousand cubic feet per second, but after the water flow from Cauvery River, level increases up to 18 thousand cubic feet per second, while the East West Canal opens up to 700 cubic feet per second.
