Union Cabinet has extended the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PM-GKAY) scheme for another three months from October to December this year. Briefing reporters after the Cabinet meeting in New Delhi, Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur said that 44 thousand 762 crore rupees will be spent over the next three months.
He said, the Government has spent approximately three lakh 45 thousand crore rupees so far under the scheme. Mr. Thakur said, the scheme cover nearly 80 crore beneficiaries across the country and it has been under implementation since April 2020.
