Ouagadougou, Jan. 19 : Burkina Faso’s Presidency has announced the resignation of the country’s government and Prime Minister Paul Kaba Thieba, without giving any reasons for the move.
“Prime Minister Paul Kaba Thieba submitted this afternoon his resignation as well as that of his government,” the Presidency’s statement said.
President Roch Marc Kabore accepted the Cabinet’s resignation, the statement added.
The president declared the state of emergency in several northern provinces near the borders with Mali and Niger on December 31 amid the unstable situation there.
