India is hotspot for tourists, not just those who occasionally stroll out wishing Namaste, but for the travel enthusiasts who wish to explore the hidden treasures of our country. With campaigns like Incredible India, several states have launched curated programmes that allow traditional as well as contemporary understating of places to visit.
“The government is developing 17 iconic tourism sites as world-class tourist centres to improve the flow of domestic and foreign tourists to these destinations. Documentaries with anthropological details will be stored for tourists,” said Nirmala Sitharaman during the Union Budget 2019.
Tourism is an essential area to tap for economic growth. Some of the major developments we have seen over the years include the Statue of Unity being unveiled, the recent Kumbh Mela, which were an innovative approach to call tourists, and worked on a wider scale.
Investment in tourism will help increase employment and also keep the flow of global connectivity in motion. Apart from sightseeing, tourism in India is also coated with health retreats and rehabilitation centres, also known as health tourism.
Despite the cultural resources, most of the infrastructure in India remains undeveloped to allow smooth travel. However, there have been inclusions of visa on arrival for more countries, now with methods of digital payments increased, currency shouldn’t be a bigger problem for visitors.
