Bihar govt to give ex- gratia of Rs 4 lakh to next of kin of 7,500 persons who died due to COVID pandemic

Bihar Government has taken decision to give an ex- gratia of rupees four lakh to the next of the kin of those seven thousand five hundred deceased persons who lost their lives due to COVID pandemic across the state. The State Government has allocated three hundred crore in the first supplementary budget of current financial year which was tabled in State Assembly. Deputy Chief Minister Tarkishore Prasad who holds finance portfolio said, rupees one thousand crore will be spent for COVID eradication programme in the state.

Meanwhile, no COVID case was reported from 18 districts. The number of active cases in the state came below five hundred which is 467. The state’s recovery rate has risen to above 98 per cent while the test positivity rate has declined to below one per cent. Over seven lakh 14 thousand people have so far recovered from the infection. Ninety three fresh cases were reported in the state during the last 24 hours and 59 people recovered yesterday. Over two crore twenty six lakh people have been vaccinated in the state so far.
