Bangladesh Coast Guard detain 13 Indian fishermen

The Bangladesh Coast Guard authorities have detained 13 Indian fishermen for allegedly entering into the Bangladesh water territory on Thursday night.

The Coast Guard official at Mongla told media that the Bangladesh Coast Guard found an Indian fishing trawler in Bangladeshi territory 17 nautical mile northwest of Fairway Buoy in the Bay on Thursday night. They seized the trawler and detained 13 fishermen from the trawler. The fishermen have been handed over to the Mongla police station, reports the local media.

The operation was conducted by the Coast Guard Ship ‘Swadhin Bangla’ and the fishermen were found in the Indian trawler named ‘Pita Mata Ashirbad 12’, reports UNI.
