The management of Bahrain’s 200 Year old Shreenathji (Shree Krishna) Temple was delighted to receive Honorable Prime Minister, Shree Narendra Modi, when he visited the Temple during his trip to Bahrain. Shree Narendra Modi was welcomed by Mr. Sushil Muljimal, Chairman of Thattai Bhatia (Hindu) Community, which manages the Temple affairs and Mr. Bhagwandas Thaker, President of the Thattai Hindu Merchants Community, which is spear-heading the renovation plans.

Children in colorful traditional attire lined up to welcome the Premier by waving Bahraini and Indian flags and enjoyed a brief chat with him. He then proceeded upstairs to the sanctum Santorum, where he had ‘darshans’ of the deity. A plaque commemorating the launch of redevelopment of the complex was unveiled by him in the presence of H.E. Shaikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Chairman of King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Existence, H.E. Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa,

Minister of Justice and Islamic Affairs, and Ms. Betsy Matheison, Chairperson of This is Bahrain and Vice Chairperson of King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Existence. Subsequently, he had an interaction with the devotees gathered on the ground and the auditorium and lauded them for maintaining the 200 year old Temple and preserving their culture and heritage.

He also thanked the Ruling Family and Government of Bahrain for providing a safe and harmonious environment for Indians of all faiths to practice their religion. Mr. Sushil Muljimal also expressed his happiness that the visit of Shree Narendra Modi coincided with the 200th Year celebrations of the Temple.
