Bahrain Signs Visa Exemption Agreement With Indonesia

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, met the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Retno Marsudi, at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, as reported by Gulf Daily News. 

During the meeting, an agreement was signed on the establishment of a joint commission for cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of Indonesia, in order to further enhance the friendly cooperation relations between the two countries.

Also at the meeting, an agreement was signed between the two countries on mutual exemption of visa requirements for holders of diplomatic, special and service passports.

Separately, the Minister also participated in the High-level Dialogue on Financing for Development (FfD), which was held at the United Nations in New York. The meeting was attended by a number of heads of State and Government participating in the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The meeting aims to examine ideal means to assist in the provision of resources and strengthen the partnerships necessary to accelerate progress in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, and to assess, work on and support efforts in this area.
