Bahrain Crown Prince Visits U.S., Signs Key Deals

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, who is on an official trip to the United States, met President Donald Trump and   Vice President  Mike Pence.

During the meeting, HRH the Crown Prince welcomed the enduring strength of Bahrain – U.S. relations, noting that the partnership is based on close security, trade and cultural ties.  In his welcome remarks, President Trump highlighted the close friendship which the United States shares with Bahrain and emphasized that it had never been as close as it was at present. 

The Crown Prince also stressed the importance of maintaining this key alliance in the face of continued threats, both in the Arabian Gulf region and internationally. In this regard, HRH pointed to Bahrain’s long track record in the fight against extremism and terrorism.  He highlighted that coordinated action is essential to regional stability and economic development.

Later, His Royal Highness and the vice president signed an agreement to acquire Patriot surface-to-air missile system equipment for Bahrain, which will form a vital component of the Bahrain Defense Force’s combat readiness strategy.
