Bahrain airport receives over 9 million passengers in 2018

MANAMA, Jan. 22 Indsamachar Bahrain — The number of travelers through Bahrain International Airport in 2018 stood at more than 9 million, a year-on-year increase of 7 percent, Bahrain’s national aviation authority said Tuesday.

The Air Traffic Control Center managed more than 624,000 flights over the past year, a year-on-year increase of 4 percent, Mohammed Thamer Al Kaabi, under-secretary of Civil Aviation Affairs, was quoted by the Bahrain News Agency (BNA) as saying.

The Civil Aviation Affairs is considering a number of projects to develop the services provided by the Air Traffic Control Center, including personnel training, he added.

“We are keen on providing the state-of-the-art technologies to Civil Aviation Affairs officers to fulfill their jobs more professionally,” the Bahraini official concluded.
