Assam govt takes step to boost up infrastructure for COVID 19 management


The Assam government has taken a step to boost up infrastructure for COVID 19 management. Talking to news persons in Guwahati, Health Minister Keshab Mahanta said that an MoU has been signed today with Down Town University to set up 400 bedded COVID Hospital in Guwahati. He said that another 200 ICU beds will be included at Gauhati medical college and hospital. The Minister further said that steps are also being taken to upgrade the existing facilities. Mr. Mahanta informed that 4 new COVID Care Centres will be operationalized with over 3 thousand bed capacities. He said that Assam has been able to send medical help to some neighboring states. The Minister asserted that vaccination drive will be intensified by the coming month.
