Army Intensifies Humanitarian Assistance & Relief Operations In Cloudburst & Landslide Affected Areas Of Himachal Pradesh

Indian Army has intensified its ongoing Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief operations in Himachal Pradesh by mobilising several resources following the cloudburst and landslides in Shimla and Mandi districts. Army said, as part of the assistance and relief operations at flood-hit Samej, around 90 civilians were moved and treated at the Army’s medical camp. It has also constructed an improvised footbridge for affected civilians and essential commodities and provided food and medicines to the affected people at Samej village near Jhakri in Rampur sub-division of Shimla district. Road towards the incident site, blocked due to a land shift, has been repaired by the Engineer Task Force. Defence Ministry said that additional teams and resources have been mobilised and deployed for search and rescue operations. Army officials continue to work in close coordination with the state rescue team and civil administration.
