Hours after the Taliban claimed that Amrullah Saleh has fled Afghanistan, the ‘acting’ president of the country released an audio message clarifying he is very much in Panjshir. Amrullah Saleh called the reports of him fleeing Afghanistan absolutely baseless. Saleh said he is at his base in the Panjshir valley with his commanders and political leaders. Saleh said the resistance forces have held their ground and not lost any territory in Panjshir. He said, over the past 4-5 days, Taliban have launched its offensive in the Valley but has made no significant gains so far. The ‘acting’ president also claimed that the Pakistani Army is in cahoots with the Taliban and aiding it in the invasion of Afghanistan.
