National Testing Agency had lost its credibility, only a CBI investigation can provide a solution: ABVP.
The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) of Guwahati Mahanagar staged a vigorous protest today on the banks of Dighalipukhuri in Guwahati, demanding a CBI investigation into the questions raised during the NEET-UG 2024 examination process and the announcement of results. Since the beginning of this examination process, reports of negligence have surfaced from different parts of the country, with discrepancies emerging during the distribution of question papers at several centers. Even during the announcement of NEET exam results, reports of multiple people scoring the highest marks from a single examination center have once again raised questions about the entire examination system.
Guwahati Mahanagar Secretary Swapnil Haloi targeted the NTA, stating that on the day the Lok Sabha election results were being announced, the entire government machinery was busy with the election results, and the announcement of the exam results by the officials at the same time points to a major corruption. He also demanded a specific system for how additional ‘grace marks’ would be given, the establishment of exam centers in government institutions to prevent incidents of cheating and question paper leaks, and the removal of private organizations from the entire examination system. Instead of involving non-governmental organizations, the process should be conducted by government employees.
Participating in the protest today, Tanishk Das Kashyap, Joint-secretary of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, Guwahati Mahanagar, demanded an impartial investigation into the entire NEET-UG 2024 examination process. He stated that the discrepancies in this year’s exam have created a sense of despair among students, diminishing the credibility of the entire examination process. Therefore, a high-level investigation by the CBI into the entire incident, which involves the academic future of the student community, is demanded.
