The Delhi High Court has sought response from the Centre and the AAP government on a plea seeking to link movable and immovable property with Aadhaar number to curb corruption, black money generation and Benami transactions.
A bench of Chief Justice D N Patel and Justice C Hari Shankar issued notices to the Central and Delhi government on the petition and listed the matter for further hearing on October 15.
In a separate petition filed by advocate and BJP leader Ashwini Upadhyay, the court directed the Election Commission to decide within eight weeks on the representation given to it, for taking steps to link voter ID with Aadhaar number to curtail bogus and duplicate voting in polls.
