13.4 cr farmers engaged in Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyaan to bridge lab-to-land gap: Agriculture Minister

Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has highlighted that the recent Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyaan nationwide campaign marked an unprecedented convergence of agricultural research, extension, and development by directly engaging 13.4 crore farmers across 1.43 lakh villages across the nation. Addressing the media in New Delhi today, Mr. Chouhan said that a developed agriculture sector and prosperous farmers align with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a developed India. The Minister added that more than 60 thousand programs were conducted under the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyaan campaign with a special focus on tribal districts. He said that the primary aim of the campaign was to bridge the gap between land and labs. The Minister further emphasised that during the campaign, farmers not only shared their problems but also showcased their innovations in the agricultural sector. He assured all possible support to the farmers. Mr. Chouhan further asserted that the primary focus of the government is to increase farmers’ income and make India the food basket of the world.

He mentioned that the campaign will not stop, and government officials and scientists will continue to visit the fields to resolve the issues of the farmers.
