President Murmu says task of bringing left-wing extremism-affected people to mainstream in final stage

President Draupadi Murmu said that the task of connecting people affected by left-wing extremism to the mainstream of society has reached its final and decisive stage. She said people of Naxal-affected areas of Chhattisgarh want to move forward on the path of development. Addressing the silver jubilee celebrations of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly in Raipur today, she expressed confidence that the people of the state will soon achieve success in their efforts to completely free Chhattisgarh from extremism and a golden chapter will be added to the history of the state.Emphasizing the importance of environmental protection, the President said that along with moving forward on the path of modern development, the state has to ensure environmental protection as well. She said, the policy-makers of the state have the responsibility to establish a balance between development and nature. Along with this, it is also important to connect all sections of society with the journey of modern development.The President appealed to the women legislators to always be ready to promote women working in various fields of life. She said, that when women empower each other, our society will become stronger and more sensitive.Governor Ramen Deka, Assembly Speaker Dr Raman Singh, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Leader of Opposition Dr Charandas Mahant also addressed the function. A book titled ‘Sadsya Sandarbh” was released during the function. During the visit, the President also planted a sapling on Assembly premises.
