Sports Minister takes part in padyatra on birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj

Union Minister for Youth and Sports, Mansukh Mandaviya took part in a padyatra in Pune today on the occasion of the 395th birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The march, organized by the Union Ministry of Youth and Sports, the state government, and the Pune district administration, started from the Government Engineering College grounds and made its way to Fergusson College.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Mandaviya emphasized that, just as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj laid the foundation for Hindavi Swarajya through ideal governance and respect for women, the Narendra Modi government is working to build a developed India, inspired by his principles.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, along with several dignitaries, participated in the event. Speaking at the event, Mr Fadnavis said, the Narendra Modi government has nominated Shivaji Maharaj’s twelve forts for UNESCO world heritage status.

The padyatra, which saw active participation from students, aimed to inspire the youth to follow the values of duty, women’s respect, and democratic ideals established by Shivaji Maharaj.
