Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated the grand mega Aero India show in Bengaluru today in the presence of Minister of State for Defense Sanjay Seth and Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar.
In his inaugural address Rajnath Singh termed Asia’s biggest show in Aerospace as a reflection of our strength and resilience in defense production. He emphasized that Aero India showcases the country’s industrial capability and technological advancement to the world, while strengthening symbiotic relations with friendly countries. He juxtaposed the show with Maha Kumbh of defense and aerospace sector.
He also highlighted the importance of indigenization and priority to design and develop within the country. Saying that the year of 2025 will focus on reforms in defense production, he pointed out that several measures are taken to encourage innovation and research. He added that vibrant and thriving defence industry ecosystem has been created in the country due to a concerted, sustained and well thought out roadmap by the Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
He informed that India’s defense industrial sector is now among the top five globally, playing a pivotal role in economic growth. As part of prioritizing atmanirbharata in defense production, budgetary allocation to the sector was increased by 9.53 percent for the year. Domestic production has grown to 1.25 lakh crore and exports to 21000 crore rupees.
Rajnath Singh was witness to a spectacular air display during the inaugural ceremony. Akashvani’s correspondent reports that the Aero India show that began in Bengaluru has attracted stakeholders from the defense sector from across the globe. India showcased its defense production capabilities before the stakeholders from across the world.
During the inaugural event, an enchanting flying display by Indian platforms LCA Tejas, HTT 40, Intermediate Jet Trainer and light Utility Helicopter mesmerized the audience. Sukhoi MKi 30 and Surya Kiran aerobatic team gave a thrilling flying display.
India pavilion is one of the places to visit in the Aero India show. It was inaugurated by Rajnath Singh today. Divided into five distinct zones, the exhibits give a panoramic view of Indian defense production and Research capabilities. The Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft being developed by ADA is displayed here.
There is also the Combat Air Teaming System, Twin engine deck based fighter here. Another pavilion that was being visited by guests was the iDEX pavilion. It displays cutting edge indigenously developed products and technologies by innovators. It showcases anti drone systems, robotics, cyber security, surveillance and tracking, unmanned vehicles and other niche technologies.
