More than 2300 cadets, including 917 girl cadets representing all states and Union Territories will participate in National Cadet Corps (NCC) Republic Day Camp 2025. Talking exclusively to Akashvani News in New Delhi today, DG NCC Lieutenant General Gurbirpal Singh said that this one-month-long camp would formally be inaugurated by Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar on 5th of January. Cadets attending the camp will participate in a number of activities including the Republic Day Parade on 26th of January.
This camp will be visited by a large number of dignitaries including Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Delhi Chief Minister Atishi. Lieutenant General Singh highlighted that the camp will culminate with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally on 27th January this year.
Lt General Singh also mentioned that the strength of NCC cadets has been increased from 17 lakh to 20 lakh. He said that this strength constitutes around 40 percent of female cadets and the numbers are increasing every year. Lt Gen Singh highlighted that nearly 23,000 institutions across the country provide NCC training to the students and around 12000 institutes are in line to join the NCC.
Lt General Singh mentioned that apart from regular 1,162 Annual training camps, 6 special national integration camps and 33 Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat camps were conducted that promote integration and strengthen bonds amongst cadets of varied regions and cultures.
