India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall in Gujarat, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Saurashtra and Kutch and Chhattisgarh today. The weather department also forecast light to moderate spells of rainfall over North Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema adjoining Karnataka, Rajasthan, south Marathwada adjoining Telangana, South Haryana, west and northeast Uttar Pradesh.
Heavy rainfall is also expected during the night in Uttarakhand, West Bihar, East Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura. In Delhi, moderate rainfall was observed late last night. The IMD forecasts that the city will experience a cloudy sky with light to moderate rain and thundershowers till 9th September.
