The 417th Prakash Purab of Shri Guru Granth Sahib is being celebrated with full devotion and regard today. The Gurpurab is celebrated on 15th day of Bhadon every year.
In Punjab, a Nagar Kirtan was taken from Ram Sar Sahib to Shri Harminder Sahib at Amritsar. At the start of Nagar Kirtan, the Bhogs of Akhand Path were performed and Hazoori Raagi Jathas recited the Gurbani Kirtan.
The martial art Gatka was also played by the youth, when Nagar Kirtan was carried to Shri Harimandir Sahib. The President of Shiromani Prabandhak Committee Bibi Jagir Kaur, Senior Vice President Surjit Singh and members of SGPC joined the Nagar Kirtan.
After the Ardas, the Head Granthi of Singh Sahib Giani Jagtar Singh read the sacred Hukamnama. He congratulated the people especially Sikhs on this occasion.
Bibi Jagir Kaur also congratulated the all followers of Shri Guru Granth Sahib and said Shri Guru Granth Sahib is that sacred granth, which led the humanity in every aspect.
In the evening, there will be Deepmala and firecracker show at Golden Temple.
