Union Government has said that 433 lakh 32 thousand tonnes of wheat has been procured so far in the current Rabi Marketing Season. Agriculture Ministry said, 11.81 per cent more wheat has been procured in comparison to last year’s corresponding period. More than 49 lakh 16 thousand farmers have already benefitted from the ongoing procurement operations with MSP value of 85,581 crore rupees.
Government through its nodal agencies has procured over ten lakh seven thousand tonnes of Moong, Urad, Tur, Gram, Masoor, Groundnut Pods, Sunflower seed, Mustard Seed and Soyabean. The Ministry said, more than six lakh 17 thousand farmers of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, Haryana, Odisha and Rajasthan have been benefitted.
