Southwest monsoon to enter Jharkhand through Dhanbad and Dumka district in next 24 hours

The Southwest monsoon will enter Jharkhand through Dhanbad and Dumka district in the next twenty-four hours. The Meteorological Department has forecasted very heavy to heavy rainfall and thunderstorm for next five days across the state. Met Department has also issued Orange and Yellow for all the districts of Jharkhand ahead of the active pre-monsoon activity in the entire state.

The low pressure area formed over Bay of Bengal has started progressing towards Jharkhand leading to monsoon-showers with light to moderate rainfall in the entire state. Hazaribagh district has recorded highest rainfall of 65 millimetres. The Meteorological Department has predicted thunderstorms with heavy rainfall in many districts of the state including Ranchi, Bokaro, Chatra, Deoghar, Dhanbad, Dumka, Simdega, Khunti, West Singhbhum, Hazaribagh and Koderma in the next five days. Scientist at the Regional Met Department Abhishek Anand said that the monsoon activity in the state is favourable.
