Counter measures have been intensified to curb a surge in the Covid 19 cases in Karnataka. Health and Medical Education Minister Dr. K Sudhakar has said that three lakh persons will be vaccinated every day and 1000 beds in the government hospitals will be reserved for Covid patients in Bengaluru. Covid Care Centres will also be opened to manage the surge. Each ward in Bengaluru will have an ambulance. He said that for the next 50 days, doctors, healthcare workers and officials will work in mission mode to take preventive measures.
He said Covid war room will provide real time data on the spread of the pandemic and help trace the primary and secondary contacts. The health minister called upon people to follow Covid appropriate behaviour. He said that health kiosks will be set up for Covid patients to ensure smooth admission. The state has reported a positivity rate of 1.59 percent, case fatality rate of 0.53 percent and recovery rate of over 97 percent.
