PM Modi speaks to Tamil Nadu CM; Central teams being rushed to state to assist in rescue and relief work in wake of Cyclone Nivar

Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and discussed the situation in the wake of the cyclone and heavy rainfall in parts of the state. 

In a tweet, Prime Minister’s Office yesterday said, Central teams are being sent to Tamil Nadu to assist in rescue and relief work. Mr Modi expressed condolence on the loss of lives and prayed for a quick recovery of the injured.

An ex-gratia of two lakh rupees each would be given to the next of kin of the persons deceased and 50 thousand rupees each to the injured, from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund.
