Delhi Police suspends all licences issued for sale of firecrackers in national capital

Delhi Police has suspended all licences issued for the sale of firecrackers in the national capital. It said that further action will be taken on the National Green Tribunal’s directions. Ahead of Diwali, the Delhi Police has seized over 593 kilogram of illegal crackers being sold in various parts of Delhi. Seven people have also been arrested in this regard and cases registered against them.
 
The Delhi Police has also registered eight cases in connection with bursting of firecrackers and arrested one person in this regard.
 
The Delhi government has also put a complete ban on the sale, purchase, and use of all kinds of firecrackers in Delhi till 30th of this month in view of air pollution and COVID-19 cases.
