A 33-year-old woman from Mira Road in Mumbai has lodged a complaint with police alleging that Binoy Kodiyeri, son of CPM state secretary raped her. Binoy Kodiyeri has been booked by the police on charges of rape and cheating.
The woman complained that Binoy Kodiyeri promised to marry him and she had been raped several times over the last nine years. The complainant is currently the mother of an eight-year-old boy.
The woman complained that Binoy Balakrishnan Kodiyeri was already married and has two kids in Kerala.
Binoy Kodiyeri has been charged under Indian Penal Code sections 376 and 376(2)(n)(rape), 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property), 504 (Intentional Insult) and 506 (criminal intimidation).
Oshiwara Police Senior Inspector Shailesh Pasalwar said they are probing the case and procedures are underway before action is taken against the accused.
