In Bihar, a two member team of Election Commission has reached Patna this morning on a two day visit to review preparedness for the upcoming assembly elections. The team which includes Deputy Election Commissioners Sudeep Jain and Chandrabhushan Kumar is on its first visit to the state amid the pandemic. Assembly elections in Bihar are due in October-November and the tenure of the current Assembly is scheduled to end on November 29.
During two days the Commission will hold meeting with DMs and SPs of different districts at Patna, Muzaffarpur, Bhagalpur and Bodh Gaya.
Soon after arrival at Patna team left for Muzaffarpur where the Commission will hold review meeting with concerned officials of 12 districts including Darbhanga, Madhubani and Sitamarhi.
In the afternoon the Election Commission team will hold review meeting in Patna with DMs and SPs of seven districts including Nalanda, Bhojpur and Buxar. After the meeting the team will meet with Director General of police. Tomorrow the election commission will hold review meeting at Bhagalpur and Bodhgaya. Before returning to Delhi the Election Commission will hold review meeting with Chief Secretary and other senior officials in Patna.
