Women’s Cricket: India to take on South Africa in first ODI of three match series

In Women’s Cricket, the first ODI of the three-match series between India and South Africa will be played in Vadodara today. The match will begin at 9 AM. 

India yesterday dealt with a major blow as opener Smriti Mandhana is ruled out due to an injury. The 23-year-old suffered a fracture in her right toe after being struck by a ball during a net session yesterday, forcing her out of the series. Seam bowling all-rounder Pooja Vastrakar has been drafted in as her replacement.

India won the recently concluded Twenty20 International series 3-1 against South Africa in Surat.
