Union Home Minister Amit Shah will arrive in Aizawl today on a day-long tour to Mizoram. Mr Shah will inaugurate the North East Handloom and Handicraft Exhibition at Government Mizo High School field at Zarkawt in Aizawl.
Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga and Union Minister of State for DoNER Dr. Jitendra Singh will be present on this occasion. Later in the afternoon, the Home Minister will hold meetings with Mr. Zoramthanga and NGOs.
In the three-day exhibition, North East Handloom and Handicraft Development Corporation, Shillong, Cane and Bamboo Technology Centre, Assam, Nagaland Bamboo Development Agency and craftsmen and weavers from all northeastern states will be featured. This first-ever three-day North-East Handloom and Handicraft Exhibition is fully funded by the North Eastern Council and hosted by Mizoram government.
