Textiles Minister Smriti Irani inaugurated the International Silk Fair on the virtual 8th India portal today. Held under one roof on the virtual stage of the Silk Export Promotion Council of India, this fair is considered the largest silk fair in India.
The five-day program is being conducted virtually due to the COVID-19 epidemic. Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Irani said that more than 200 foreign buyers are already registered and equal representatives in India will have to manufacture and trade silk and silk blended products together with well-known and large Indian companies.
He called on exhibitors and foreign buyers to participate in the initiative to celebrate the beauty and vibrancy of more than 100 Indian silk.
